Job Description

This role can be for a Data Analyst or Sr Data Analyst!

As a (Sr) Data Analyst, you will partner with business resources to evaluate data needs and translate into deliverables for internal users and analytics applications. You will collect requirements and turn them into technical specifications. You will govern the overall quality of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and the processes that feed it.

This is a contract to hire, including full benefits. Potential for direct hire for the right candidate.

Location: Madison or Onalaska, WI or remote within the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business users, external vendors and/or government entities to obtain data requirements for new analytics applications and data feeds or enhancement of existing products.
  • Uncover appropriate sources of data for proposed application or data warehousing extension profiling data to ensure fitness for business purpose.
  • Coordinate business requirements for the data and provide consultation to internal stakeholders to support their data needs.
  • Understand source and target data structures, using standard data tools to review required data and fully profile the data to analyze its ability to meet the business needs.
  • Complete impact assessments and ad hoc analyses to ensure that production issues and other reported deficiencies are adequately understood and resolved by updating requirements.
  • Translate requirements into technical specifications and data models, appropriately documenting the solution via Report Specifications, Data Flow Diagrams, and Source to Target (STT) documents.
  • Create and refine tools and workflows to efficiently collect and translate organizational reporting needs.

Required Skills:

  • Strong SQL coding experience
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing principles
  • Ability to read/write Source to Target Mapping documentation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and execute on tight deadlines
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of health plan/PBM implementation process
  • Knowledge of governmental reporting processes and timelines
  • Work with date from at least one payer system (Epic, Facets, etc)
