Smart Solutions seeks an experienced Application Architect III for a long-term contract opportunity with a prominent Madison, WI company. Please note, the professional hired into this role must sit on-site in Madison after the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. To qualify for this role, candidates must have detailed knowledge of the TIME and Criminal history applications or a thorough understanding of DOJ Crime reporting and Grant Management systemsIf the description below matches your professional experience, please apply today!

Job Duties: 
  • Provide architectural and big picture oversight for the development of new or enhanced software products
  • Responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture across the system and providing day-to-day technical direction to the development teams
  • Define the design, technical, and application architectures for major areas of development and recommend a course of action to maintain cost-effectiveness and competitiveness
  • Stay current on business initiatives and objectives, particularly as these relate to infrastructure and development architecture issues
  • Research and implement best practices frameworks and capability models that will control costs, provide higher quality, or increase the predictability of service delivery
  • Research new technology and development tools to remain informed of current and emerging technology
Job Requirements: 
  • Must have detailed knowledge of the TIME and Criminal history applications or a thorough understanding of DOJ Crime reporting and Grant Management systems
  • 6 to 9+ years of architecture experience or equivalent education
  • 6+ years of experience architecting solutions across the spectrum of hosted, outsourced, and cloud computing
  • 6+ years of experience defining, implementing, and enforcing business rules
  • 6+ years designing an application reporting solution 
  • 6+ years with the SDLC and capacity planning 
  • 2+ years of .Net Application and Web Application Design Patterns experience
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of architecture frameworks, methodologies, and tools (such as possessing The Open Group Architecture Framework accreditation)
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented design or domain-driven design
  • Ability to conduct intricate work significant to the organization
  • Capacity to work with minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment
