Improve Emails at a Critical Time

Virtual Collaboration is a key IMPACT skill and it has never been more important than right now.  While so much of the workforce is operating remotely, team collaboration is often accomplished virtually, and this has created a resurgence in the importance of effective email communication.

Schedule Emails – to avoid triggering unintended after-hours responses and work.  Many team members are currently working adjusted schedules today to manage a balance between work and new family responsibilities.  Just because you may be working at 6am or 10pm, does not mean the recipient is, so out of consideration, you might consider scheduling emails to go out during business hours.

Use Your Out of Office – if you are working an adjusted schedule, be sure to use your out of office to signal to your teammates when you are offline and when you can be expected back online.  It saves them from guessing or having to review your calendar and helps manage expectations for a response.
