While good employees may work to manage and minimize change, IMPACT Players welcome, adjust, and learn from change. They view change as an opportunity to build new capabilities. As the target moves (and we know it often does), employers highly value team members who are quick to adapt and learn. Collecting feedback is an important part of that process.
According to Liz Wiseman and the research she did for her book, Impact Players, “the Impact Players we studied received more feedback than others because they made it easy for people to correct them. They solicited advice and asked for feedback before their managers or other stakeholders thought to give it. The critical skill isn’t what you know but how fast you can learn.”
